7 Obvious Spoilers You Missed At The Start Of Movies
4. Total Recall: A Rekall Employee Reveals The Whole Plot
Paul Verhoeven’s head-wrecking Phillip K Dick adaptation Total Recall isn't all it seems. There's much more to the movie than Arnie cracking skulls and reeling off one-liners, but still, it didn't need to lay out its core plot from start to finish early on.
The movie's premise finds Schwarzenegger's Doug Quaid heading to the Rekall company for a memory implant that will help him escape the mundanity of everyday life. He chooses the 'secret agent' experience which, as a Rekall employee explains, will see him “save the girl, kill the bad guys, and save the entire planet".
Granted, Total Recall is more concerned with posing the question of whether or not Quaid is dreaming throughout, but its beginning middle and ending was basically blurted out by that spoilerific Rekall employee.
After that early scene has come and gone, the only unanswered question to consider is whether any of those things actually happened.
