7 Reasons Why Monsters Was Actually A Terrible Film

1. The Story Is Terrible

00001 That's the biggest problem this abomination of a movie has. Granted every single movie is predictable in some way, and it doesn't matter if we know how the movie is going to end. All that matters is how interesting the journey from beginning to end is, so even if we know how the outcome will be, we will enjoy the film nonetheless. However no movie, no matter how bad it is has ever been as predictable as Monsters. The way the events of the movie are unveiled felt so forced that you can tell it's nothing but a cheap excuse for the plot to follow. The romance (as I mentioned earlier) was so contrived and predictable that no matter how much I would've loved to see it being something different it would've ended the way it did, even if it made no sense. And of course, this movie also had to do the pretentious and dull "ending at the beginning," something that instantly killed the little emotion the final scene was building up. That has never worked for a movie in the past and it definitely didn't work for this one. I'm really scared right now because the remake of Godzilla looked so promising, and to think that the director of this movie is helming that one is a thought that's still giving me serious nightmares. The sequel on the other hand is fortunately being helmed by another director, however after reading the plot of the film I'm keeping my expectations incredibly low. All I can do is to cross my fingers and pray that both movies will be good.
