7 Reasons Why Wanda Maximoff Will Be The MCU’s Greatest Threat Yet
3. Doctor Strange And The Multiverse Of Madness Villian
With Elizabeth
Olsen confirmed to be co-starring with Benedict Cumberbatch in the sequel to
2016’s Doctor Strange, it seems increasingly likely that Wanda’s role will be
that of an antagonist, with Doctor Strange teleporting himself around the
multiverse trying to clean up the mess The Scarlet Witch has made.
This seems even more likely considering the recent announcement that Doctor Strange is teaming up with Spider-Man in Tom Holland’s third solo outing, which will also see Jamie Foxx cross universes to reappear as Electro, just this time in the MCU. Shocking!
Of course, it’s possible Doctor Strange and The Scarlet Witch will be working together, but with rumoured costar America Chavez set to make her MCU debut in the sequel – potentially as Doctor Strange’s sidekick - it seems unlikely. Also, if Wanda is a friend to Doctor Strange in the sequel, couldn’t he just ask her to put things back to how they were before?
Looks like the MCU is setting up a warlock vs witch scenario, and with Wanda more inclined to go off book with magic and Doctor Strange no longer in possession of the Time Stone, my money’s on the witch.
