1. The Infinity Gauntlet
So far we've caught a very brief glimpse of the Infinity Gauntlet itself in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (in Odin's trophy room in the first Thor movie) and we've seen two of the gems/stones in action independently (the Tesseract and the Aether) in other MCU movies, but we are yet to see all six gems/stones attached to the gauntlet and being wielded by one individual simultaneously. That, of course, should come much later in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will likely occur when Thanos manages to collect all six of the items of power. If indeed that happens and we get an Infinity Gauntlet storyline like the comic book arc, it's going to need more than just the characters we've seen so far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to stop Thanos. With that in mind, in order to stop the truly universal threat that Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet would pose, it would make sense for every available hero on Earth to make themselves available to fight him. It would be awesome to see S.H.I.E.L.D and the X-Men coming together to actively gather every hero on the planet - which could include the Avengers, mutants, the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man - in an effort to combat the threat. In the comic book arc of this story, heroes from all of these respective movie franchises came up against - and fell victim to - the godlike Thanos. Indeed, wielding such power, he even imprisoned cosmic entities like Galactus and some Celestials. It would make for an absolutely monstrous, epic, colossal-scale movie with our favourite movie heroes all but helpless against the Mad Titan - and the fact that it would let us see the unforgettable final scenes, in which Captain America is the only hero left standing and he stands up to Thanos, would be amazing. So there you have it; seven stories that could merge the X-Men, Spider-Man and Marvel Cinematic Universes. Did you like this list?
