It should be possible to separate a motion picture - a work of fiction - from reality. Things that we know about the private lives of movie stars, directors and writers shouldn't technically affect the experience of watching a picture, after all; knowing what happened behind the scenes of a film shouldn't bleed into our enjoyment a film, because they're two different worlds. What exists in one does not exist in the other. That said, sometimes it's possible to stumble upon a piece of information that stops you in your tracks. A fact that is so unbelievable, offensive or downright insulting that it warps your opinion of a movie to the point that you're unable to watch it in the same way again. What you've learned ends up changing your opinion of the movie itself. This doesn't matter when it comes to terrible movies, of course - all the more reason to hate on them, right?
