7 Unused Spider-Man Villains Who'd Be Great In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

The fact that Spider-Man is a lone hero in his current universe means that only a small number of his rogues gallery will ever be used. The likes of the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Venom, Rhino and Electro are a few of the characters that immediately come to mind when you think of Spidey's enemies and they have either already appeared or are set to appear, along with a handful of other A-listers and B-listers from his roster of antagonists, in his movie universe. Sadly, this means that a much larger number of characters predominantly associated with being Spider-Man foes will not get the opportunity to appear in a movie any time soon - so why not bring some in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Granted, there are rights issues associated with some of them, but if they are never going to be used why not free them up for use elsewhere? The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a much more extensively expanded continuity. Nine films have been released to date, another is to be released this year in Guardians of the Galaxy, two more are to be released next year, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has brought the franchise to the small screen and Marvel have a fourteen year plan that includes a number of new films, more television shows (such as Agent Peggy Carter's own series) and a Netflix series of the Defenders. This leaves ample room for villains that would otherwise be unused in live action media and there are several of Spidey's opponents who have had altercations with characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the comic books that could be brought to either the big screen or the small screen. Granted, they're not necessarily A-listers or even B-listers, but they're great villains who could take a meaningful place in the adventures of the Marvel/Disney Studios-owned characters.
