8 Acceptable Reasons To Walk Out Of A Movie

2. If It€™s a Glorified Product Commercial

I€™m not one of these guys that despises product placement in movies, but it has to be done just right. After all, having the Coca Cola brand placed strategically within a film can help to create a sense of realism; Coke exists in our reality, right? Then why shouldn€™t it exist in a film set in our reality? Then there are even genius ways to place products. The product placement gag in Wayne€™s World for example. It€™s a hilarious parody of bad product placement that is in itself an entire sequence of product placement which I guarantee earned someone a lot of money. How do you hide something where no one will find it? Why in plain sight of course, like so: http://youtu.be/KjB6r-HDDI0 But, if product placement is forced in awkwardly, then the film is at risk of losing its artistic merit, and being remembered only as an attempt to wring cash from every possible avenue. You surely must remember this: http://youtu.be/3HpIZrOH4zc When product placement is this flagrant, this forced, this phony, then Hollywood is attempting to brainwash you. Do yourself a favour; get up and get out. And whatever you do, resist the urge to by a pair of Converse on your way home, for if you do, the man has won.
