Just when you think the cinematic world can't get any crazier, Sony comes out and reveals that their multiple Spider-Man franchises are going to be clashing in one epic flick. It sure is a great time to be a fan of the web-slinger.

Although the Sony/Marvel disputes have led to a lot of concern for the future of Tom Holland's Peter Parker and his place in the MCU, it's not all doom and gloom. The company have so many related properties under their belt, and the No Way Home trailer shows that they'll be taking full advantage of that.

We already know that Alfred Molina's beloved Doc Ock will be returning to the franchise alongside other characters like Jamie Foxx's Electro and Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, but that is only the tip of the iceberg. Right now, speculation is high regarding which other classic Sam Raimi and Marc Webb Spider-Man characters will be entering the fray, and these are names that should be among them.

An honourable mention goes to Elya Baskin, who played Mr Ditkovich, Toby Maguire's landlord. Hopefully, he can finally get his rent money.

8. Thomas Haden Church

Spider-Man 3 was a mess of storylines, plot points and action sequences, but one of its biggest grievances was establishing compelling villains and losing them in the shuffle. The multiple antagonists of the flick meant that not every character got the chance to shine, and one particularly noticeable missed opportunity was Thomas Haden Church's Sandman.

This character came in with a solid motive, some extraordinary powers, and a superpower origin scene that brought a tear to the eye. But ultimately, he ended up playing second fiddle to Harry Osborn's The New Goblin and Venom. Despite that, when diluting the character down to his basic instincts, what you get is an incredibly intimidating physical force, and that's something that could find a place in No Way Home.

The Sandman had such a great look and was given a solid performance from this talented actor, so he could easily slot into this movie as a piece of muscle for Peter to overcome. Holland's Peter has undoubtedly dealt with some powerful enemies before. Still, Sandman would have an unprecedented ability to kick his butt, making for some awesome sequences and a lot of drama.
