8 Actors We Never Expected To Make Huge Comebacks

8. John Travolta

Admittedly, John Travolta has lost his footing lately as a bona fide movie star, but the mid-90s to early-00s gave rise to an unexpected second coming of the man who'll forever be associated with disco and irritatingly catchy musical numbers. Where once he'd danced his way to success (and straight into Olivia Newton-John's heart), Travolta's comeback movie saw him thesp himself back into the limelight, by giving the acting performance of his life in Pulp Fiction. His career virtually over after a dismal 80s, Travolta was given the plum role of heroin-addicted hitman Vincent Vega by Quentin Tarantino (in the greatest single career resurrection by a director who's seemingly taken it upon himself to bring near-forgotten actors back from the dead). 1994's Pulp Fiction led to starring roles in Get Shorty, Broken Arrow and Face/Off, turns in the critically-acclaimed likes of Primary Colours and The Thin Red Line, and a questionable sideline in bad action movies ever since.
