8 Actors Who Have Played An Insane Amount Of Nationalities

3. Alfred Molina

Nationality: British Notable Roles: Raiders of the Lost Ark (Peruvian), Letter to Brezhnev (Russian), Not Without My Daughter (Iranian), The Perez Family (Cuban), Chocolate (French), Frida (Mexican), Luther (German), Cronicas (Ecuadorian), The Da Vinci Code (Spanish), Nothing Like The Holidays (Puerto Rican), Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (Persian), Spider-Man 2 (American) One of Alfred Molina's earliest roles was as Satipo in Raiders of the Lost Ark, who you'll remember was Indy's sidekick in the iconic opening scene, until he betrayed our favourite archaeology professor and ended up with a bunch of spikes through his face: "Adios, Satipo." Molina, who many probably assumed was South American from his accent and generally dark complexion, is actually English, though, and it's a testament to his skills as an actor that he managed to make this brief character so memorable. Playing Satipo has inadvertently affected the man's entire career, however: ever since, the Englishman has become one of Hollywood's go to "foreign" actors. Need exotic? Then you think about Molina. So here's an man who has played a lot of villains with a variety of nationalities (Iranian, Persian, Russian - you name it), and occasionally returns to characters who speaking in his very, very English accent now and again to remind us, just in case we've forgotten, where he's from. Hearing Molina talk in his real voice often feels rather strange, though, given that his body of work simply points to his being a man from another part of the world - no matter which nationality he's playing, however, he's almost always great in the role: a wonderful and rather undervalued actor, for sure.
