8 Amazing Movies That Only Feature One Actor

5. Moon

Moon is reminiscent of other iconic sci-fi films without being wholly derivative, bringing to mind bits and pieces of Solaris, Silent Running, Blade Runner, and even 2001: A Space Odyssey, depending on which act you're watching.

This is a deep, thoughtful, rich movie about loneliness and deception and space dementia.

Set on a moon base where Sam's mining precious moon gas to alleviate Earth's energy crisis, Rockwell is mostly a one-man show, putting his typically snarky and charismatic energy into depicting an astronaut's descent into total madness. Because as it turns out, in space, no one can hear you scream... except for a dry and slightly sarcastic robot voiced by Kevin Spacey.

So, yes, technically this is really more of a two-man show (three-man show if you count the twist, which I won't spoil for you here), but make no mistake, it's Rockwell who carries every scene.

And while it proves to be highly entertaining watching Rockwell's increasingly loony spaceman interact with an updated version of HAL 9000, things do get pretty dark. And that's exactly when things start to get interesting.
