4. Tangled, Frozen And The Little Mermaid Are In The Same Universe

Being the biggest animated film of all time Frozen has provided Disney fans with a plethora of references to be found and the opportunity for countless theories to be crafted. The best has to be one that directly ties it together with other recent CGI flick Tangled and the studio's classic The Little Mermaid.

The shipwreck that kills the King and Queen of Arendelle (and led to Tarzan becoming king of the jungle) is the same decaying boat Ariel explores at the start of The Little Mermaid (they have the same basic design), while Rapunzel and Flynn are seen turning up for Elsa's coronation. The logic behind all these easter eggs is that the monarchs were heading from Arendelle (Norway) to Corona (Germany) for Rapunzel's return party when they sank somewhere near Eric's Kingdom (Denmark). That's why the Tangled duo turn up at the coronation; it's some form of recompense.

Chris Buck, one of Frozen's directors, was also the man behind Tarzan and served as an animator on The Little Mermaid, so it's easy to imagine he was more than a little aware of the links he was making.
