8 Awesome Disney Fan Theories You Won't Believe
2. Mufasa Is Haunting Scar
Ever noticed how terrible a king Scar was? For someone who spent so long pining to be ruler he did an atrocious job when he finally took over Pride Rock; the lions ran out of food and the circle of life was broken. At least that drought was beyond his control.
Well, if you subscribe to this particular theory then the bad weather was actually related to Scar's rule; Mufasa was haunting his unfortunately named from beyond the grave to help his son regain the throne. We know from the vision scene that Mufasa has some ability to communicate from beyond the grave through the clouds and that it can have a tangible effect on the real world, so what's to stop him being a little more proactive than just spelling out a message for Simba?
Think about it, every protracted plot development that helps Simba beat Scar, that is otherwise chalked up to symbolism, comes from the clouds; the rain, or lack thereof, is the dead king crapping all over his successor's reign, while the lightening that starts the fire and subsequent victorious downpour are him helping/rewarding his son. In striking him down, Scar made Mufasa more powerful than he could possibly could imagine.
