8 Awesome Potential MCU Crossovers That Could Happen
5. The Punisher/ Ghost Rider
When It Could Happen: The earliest we could see this is either the second half of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4, or Netflix's The Punisher, both arriving in 2017.
A crossover between Netflix and ABC has been hinted at, and whilst we may not see The Punisher head over to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D as has been suggested, the fourth season's breakout star has been rumoured for his own spinoff and it seems more logical he could cross paths with Netflix's breakout star who is currently shooting his own spinoff.
After all, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may have moved to a later time-slot and become a darker, more mature show in many ways since Ghost Rider entered the fray, but for Jon Bernthal's Punisher to cross over with an ABC property we would need a show established as being as violent and serious from the start.
If Gabriel Luna's Robbie Reyes gets his own show, The Punisher is a perfect foil for him. It would feel more organic than toning down The Punisher for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and with that show's filming schedule, a leap onto the Netflix show doesn't seem feasible.
Ghost Rider and The Punisher are perfect foils for each other- both are consumed by vengeance, neither one pulls their punches, and you can guarantee they'd butt heads. A battle royale like this is even more appealing than a Heroes for Hire series!
