8 Beloved Movie Heroes You Didn't Realise Were Terrible At Their Jobs

The Movies:Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Henry "Indiana" Jones Jr. is one of the most beloved movie heroes of all time - an archaeologist, professor, badass and adventure, this guy has thwarted the Nazis on at least two occassions, stopped the Russians from doing bad things to the world at large, and, uh, save some kids from child slavery ring in India. A hero if ever you heard of one, huh? But Indy also holds a position as a professor at Marshall College, where he teaches archaeology - although he spends most of the time either not being at work or contradicting himself entirely. Seriously. Indy may look authoritative in that tweed jacket and rounded glasses, but he also constantly leaves his work post at the drop of a fedora. What about the students who have, like, midterms? I mean, the man actually climbs out of his office window to avoid helping them. He also disappears at random on various missions, leaving them all in the lurch on a frequent basis. Would you complain about a professor that just up and disappeared like that? The only reason he gets away with it, presumably, is because the girls fancy him. Then there's the fact that Indy teaches different methods depending on how he feels on a certain day. In Last Crusade, he says: "Seventy percent of all archaeology is done in the library." And yet in Crystal Skull, he says: "If you want to be a good archaeologist, you gotta get out of the library." Which is it, Dr. Jones? Should I stay inside swatting on books, or get out into the field? To be fair, though, he's probably the worst person to take advice from, given that the man is the most careless archaeologist ever - he wanders into priceless ruins with the most careless attitude imaginable. And how has he ever worked as a spy? Everyone on the planet recognises him! Like this article? Who have we missed? Let us know in the comments section below.
