8 Casting Decisions In Upcoming Movies That Are Completely Perfect

8. Viola Davis - Amanda Waller (Suicide Squad)

Now that we've seen Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, it feels like a stroke of genius that nobody could have predicated, and yet... so perfect. As the government agent who brings the titular Suicide Squad together in David Ayer's upcoming film, Waller is arguably the biggest villain in the movie. Whilst she'll likely walk the fine line between "good" and "bad" throughout, she is - in the comics, at least - a bad guy through and through; someone who intimidates and manipulates in order to get her way. Viola Davis hasn't appeared in any particularly notable roles since 2011's The Help, but her turn in Suicide Squad is sure to bring her a hell of a lot of recognition - and future career prospects. The character of Amanda Waller requires an actor with an unmistakable sense of confidence and authority, after all, and Davis is someone who possesses that in droves. From the trailer, she comes across as the right amount of confident, stern and enigmatic - not to mention that her delivery of the "Getting people to act against their best interests is what I do for a living" line is spot-on.
