8 Characters Who Need Bigger Roles In Star Wars: Episode VIII

5. Obi-Wan Kenobi

Although he was limited to a single line in The Force Awakens, it was still great hear Obi-Wan again, especially as it brought together both Alec Guinness (through re-edited audio) and Ewan McGregor. It didn't hurt that he appeared during Rey's force vision, one of the most exciting scenes in the film.

As Rey continues to hone her abilities, it would make sense for her to continue to have experiences such as this one. And, with Luke back in the fold, Obi-Wan would have another natural means of appearing.

No one is advocating for Obi-Wan to become a main character, but even an expanded scene or two with him would really benefit the scope of the saga, with his continued presence helping tie the story of Episode VIII all the way back to the prequels. Furthermore, the story could be aided by his immense knowledge, which could be used to help explain some of the more confusing elements of the plot.

Obi-Wan's cameo was a real treat last time and as Ewan McGregor was game to help out then, surely he'd be up for more than one line of dialogue next time.
