8 Elements Of The Star Wars Expanded Universe That Need To Be Canon

2. Monster! Monsters! Monsters!

Star Wars is famed for its alien creatures and - man - did the EU have some nasties: the Godzilla size Gorog from The Force Unleashed II, which was worshipped as a god on its planet because of its sheer size and might; the octopus like Space Grazers, which travelled through deep space preying on starships; the Leviathan, huge, nightmarish serpentine creatures created via the use of the Dark Side of the Force; Liphons, flying beasts of burden used by hunters to catch prey. How awesome would it be to see these creatures on the big screen? A Star Wars movie isn't a Star Wars movie without some big, ugly monsters, and the EU has such a rich selection of offer than Disney really can do no wrong if they turn to it for inspiration. The canon reference book Ultimate Star Wars reintroduced several creatures from the now non-canon Ewok films, such as the hulking, ape-lie Gorax and the flying menace known as the Condor Dragon, so it seems like Disney have already taken an interest in the monsters of the EU. Bring back more please.
