4. Odin's Whereabouts Will Be Revealed & He'll Have To Fight
As touched upon in the previous entry, there's a distinct possibility that it will turn out that Odin was handed over to Thanos by Loki in order to spare the latter's life after his failure to take over the Earth in the first Avengers movie. He may also simply have been captured and detained by Loki somehow or maybe he was simply in the Odinsleep, but Anthony Hopkins will definitely be reprising the role of Odin, as opposed to the role of Loki in the guise of Odin. Once Odin's whereabouts is indeed revealed, don't expect him to remain in whatever situation he has been in since the events of Thor: The Dark World. If a being as powerful as Surtur - a character who has the power to destroy galaxies in the comic books - is to attack Asgard, then there is simply no way that a team of characters whose most powerful individual is "merely" Thor has any chance of putting up a resistance against him. In the comics, Odin is just as powerful a Surtur - he can destroy galaxies too - and he hasn't really got his hands dirty in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date. It's about time audiences saw what he can really do and a cataclysmic event like Ragnarok would be the ideal time for him to show it.
