8 Fixes That Would've Improved No Time To Die

2. Fix Spectre (2015)

M No Time To Die
MGM

This next fix isn't related to No Time to Die, but instead to Spectre (2015), a fun and solid but undeniably flawed and disappointing Bond film. Spectre sets up some of what came in No Time to Die and didn't necessarily do so very well.

It didn't do the best job of establishing Bond and Madeleine as a strong couple and while No Time to Die does a very good job with them overall, it's still a bit difficult to buy her as a woman Bond genuinely loves considering she just seemed like another Bond Girl in the previous film. No Time to Die's romance ultimately hits hard, but it would've hit even harder had it been established better.

Sprectre also painted itself into a corner with its ending. It seemed designed to be the final hurrah for Craig's Bond with him randomly retiring with Madeleine, which didn't feel earned at all. The film also saw Blofeld being spared by Bond for no clear reason.

Therefore, at the start of No Time to Die we have Blofeld in prison and Bond in retirement and in a close relationship... and none of these things felt earned. Had Spectre ended better, No Time to Die would've had an easier job telling its story and perhaps poor Blofeld would've got something to do. And speaking of him...
