5. Condorman - Condorman (1981)
Condorman was loosely based on a short story to such a point that it barely has anything to do with said short story, which is my way of justifying his inclusion on this list: for all intents and purposes, Condorman was an original creation who came to us courtesy of Disney, who - back in 1981 - thought that such a thing would be a good idea. Okay, so you have to give them credit for trying something new, I guess, in the days where a Spider-Man or Batman movie still seemed too tricky to pull off. Then again: Condorman? Are you kidding me? Condorman isn't your conventional superhero, imbued with actual superpowers and what not. He's an inventor in the Bruce Wayne mold, if Bruce Wayne were really clumsy and always got the job done by accident. The whole Condorman thing arises when Woodrow "Woody" Wilson decides to build a flying suit based on one that he illustrates in a comic book. Still, lame as it all is, Condorman has his own theme tune (it's just the word "Condorman" repeated over and over again) and fights against evil Russians, which has got to count for something.
