8 Harry Potter TV Spin-Offs We Want To See

6. Breaking Black

Right from the first moment Harry stepped into the Order Of The Phoenix's base at the household of the Black family, both in the novel and film versions of the aptly-titled fifth book, it became immediately apparent that the history of the family tree was rife for future exploration. By the end of the seven-instalment saga, we knew little more on what the Blacks got up to beyond Bellatrix's betrayal, Sirius' shortlived escape from Askaban and Regulus' dealings with a deadly Horcrux, yet that no longer has to be the case if Breaking Black were to be put into production. Picking up before the events of the main saga and indeed Sirius' incarceration, this gritty show would focus on the battles the Blacks faced before the resurrection of Voldemort sent things awry. We could get a new star in the role of a teen Sirius, perhaps with James Potter featuring on occasion to lend a hand along with Lupin and the flawed Peter Pettigrew too. The relationship between Bagfoot and the future Scabbers could easily be a key focal point of the programme, hinting at the dark days that are to come and the true results of becoming entangled with the Dark Arts. Best of all? As the series progresses, there would be plenty of time to explore the initial rise of the Death Eaters, a matter which the main Potter lore only ever alludes to rather than fully shedding light on what happened in the days before the Boy Who Lived...well, lived!
