8 Horror Movies Where The Killer Was Meant To Be Someone Else

1. Scream 2 - The Trio Of Killers

Happy Death Day Thumb
Dimension Films

Not only was Stu Macher intended to be the real mastermind behind the antics of Scream 3, but Scream 2 was also initially planned to give us a slightly modified take on the killers at the centre of the piece.

When Scream 2 made its way to cinema screens, the film delivered Timothy Olyphant's Mickey and Laurie Metcalfe's Mrs. Loomis as the two people responsible for the blood spilt during the picture. Originally, there was actually intended to be three killers, though.

Those killers would've been Mrs. Loomis, Sidney's boyfriend Derek (Jerry O'Connell) and Sid's BFF Hallie (Elise Neal). When this version of the tale was put together, Derek was more film-obsessed, ala Mickey, and Hallie was the one sang to in the cafeteria - a spot that eventually had Derek singing to Sidney.

At the close of the picture, Mrs. Loomis would turn on her two associates, shooting and killing them. There, Liev Schreiber's Cotton Weary would step out of the shadows to kill Loomis... before then deciding to kill both Gale Weathers and Sidney Prescott.

Likewise, Scream 4 is another entry in the franchise that could've turned out differently, with Nico Tortorella's Trevor and Adam Brody's Deputy Hoss both lined up as Ghostface in early drafts. Audiences instead got to see Rory Culkin's Charlie and Emma Roberts' Jill as that movie's killers.
