One of the joys of being a kid was not knowing what existed beyond your experiences. The world was completely unknown, and as a result, the world was full of a myriad of possibilities, including horrors beyond your control. Instead of being mere myths, ghosts, vampires, werewolves, zombies, and monsters were as real as anything else, and the possibility of them harming us was a tangible threat. The fuel for these fears was of course the movies that introduced them to us, and like everything else in the mind of a child, it was hard to separate the real from the fake. All a horror movie needs is a scary face and the right atmosphere to leave many kids imaginations racing with terrifying thoughts, leaving them with many sleepless nights. However, with the wisdom of age comes the eventual realization that there is nothing to be afraid of; that the monsters we used to fear dont exist, and that movies are nothing more than fictional stories told through a combination of actors and special effects. The magic is gone and the fear of monsters is replaced with the fear of man. With this realization also comes the realization that the movies we once thought terrifying are actually anything but. In fact, many of the films I couldnt stand to even be in the same room with I now regard as comedies. Some may be intentional, others not, but here are 8 humorous horror movies that only a child could fear.
