1. Marvel Has Regained The Rights To Fantastic Four
Josh Trank's Fantastic Four was a complete and utter disaster. Despite rumours of some sort of behind the scenes problems early on, any fears fans had were put to one side when the surprisingly great first teaser trailer was released. However, the reboot's problems became apparent days before it was released when the reviews were all of the one and two star variety, something which led to Trank taking to Twitter to disown the movie. Since then, Fantastic Four has gone on to gross less in nine weeks that the 2005 movie did during its opening weekend, and it's expected to lose Fox upwards of $100 million. It's no wonder then that the future of the franchise is in doubt, and you can't blame anyone for jumping on recent reports that Fox had given the rights to the Fantastic Four back to Marvel Studios (including villains Doctor Doom, Galactus, and the Silver Surfer) in exchange for being allowed to make X-Men TV shows Hellfire and Legion. Oh, and the real kicker? Marvel's reboot is one of those 2020 Phase 4 movies! Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, that's because it probably is. A long list of sites soon started claiming that Den of Geek's report was false, with Fox themselves later issuing a statement to say there was no truth to the rumour. Of course, it's worth noting that Sony did the exact same thing when reports of Marvel making a deal for Spider-Man first started circulating, and Marvel have a history with the rights to the Fantastic Four after offering Fox the chance to keep Daredevil in exchange for Galactus and the Silver Surfer back in 2012. It's hard to say whether this will ever happen, but it's equally hard to imagine Fox risking spending money on another Fantastic Four movie.
