8 Irresistible Film Cameos By Sportsmen

3. Lance Armstrong - Dodgeball

Lance Armstrong is one of the few sportsmen who have the authority to make the uplifting, motivational speech to Peter La Fleur (Vince Vaughn) in Dodgeball. La Fleur is sat in a bar, dejectedly drowning his sorrows after letting his dodgeball team down. Along comes Lance Armstrong and drives into him the importance of not giving up. Armstrong recalls how he was diagnosed with brain, lung and testicular cancer but with the love and support of his family he fought through it and went on to win the Tour de France a record-breaking 5 times. This inspiring story makes Le Fleur€™s problem seem like a drop in the ocean. Armstrong€™s underhand sarcastic comments are delivered with causal offhand ease, making Le Fleur feel like a pathetic little schoolboy bitch.
