8 Most Cringeworthy Moments In 2015's Comic Book Movies

7. Hank Pym's Weird Photo Of Janet - Ant-Man

One of the most surprising and fan pleasing moments in Ant-Man comes when a flashback depicts the original Wasp Janet Van Dyne working alongside Hank Pym as Ant-Man. The unexpected cameo features no dialogue and we never get to see Janet's face, but that's hardly a shock when we all went into this movie knowing that Marvel hadn't cast the role of Hope Van Dyne's mother anyway! However, the decision to hold off on casting Janet led to a very weird and awkward scene in the movie's closing moments when Hank looks at a family photo where her face is obscured by a large hat. This raises a myriad of questions. Firstly, why would Hank and Hope cherish a photo of a woman they both dearly loved in which they can't even see her face? It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Forgetting the fact for a moment that Hank has a photo of his wife that looks like one of those stock images you get when you buy a picture frame, and this was a very small moment in an otherwise great movie which is sure to take you out of the story every time you see it. It's similar to when movies have those horrible Photoshopped images of actors when they were younger in photographs, and this was arguably just has bad.
