8 Movie Characters With Completely Irrational Fears

3. Zombieland: Clowns Bad, Flesh-Eating Zombies OK

Zombieland, one of the most unfairly under-appreciated recent entries into the zombie canon, is a whole heap of fun. Part of the film's charm is that the characters, like Jesse Eisenberg's Columbus, have a great time coming up with inventive and hilarious ways to brutalise the undead. Columbus and co. don't fear the walking dead, see, but rather relish every head-blasting, piano-dropping minute, and treat the apocalypse like it's some ultra-violent cross-country jolly. And how could you not enjoy yourself in that situation - if you aren't afraid of zombies, then probably nothing is scary enough to stop you from having a good time. Still, for Columbus, there is one phobia that's carried over with him to the armageddon. Flesh-eating zombies he can deal with, but clowns? Forget about it - by the time he's facing down one of the rainbow-coloured, multi-talented entertainers armed with just a mallet, Columbus is crapping himself with fright.
