5. Mark Ruffalo Replaces Ed Norton - The Avengers

The Incredible Hulk has developed an unfortunate reputation for being one of the lesser entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and though it lacks the oomph of its successors, there is a lot to enjoy about it - a key reason being Ed Norton's depiction of Bruce Banner.

Unfortunately for Norton, the creative process behind 2008's Hulk reboot was a long and frustrating one, with the actor having been promised a level of creative control over the project that he was ultimately never given.

Still, his Banner was enjoyable to watch and harkened back to classic depictions of the character's days spent as a fugitive; it's a different performance for a different kind of character, one reminiscent of Bill Bixby, sad piano music, and long walks into the rain.

That said, few had any complaints regarding Marvel's decision to recast with Mark Ruffalo, who's since managed to endear himself to the Marvel faithful with several stellar performances in The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Thor: Ragnarok, Infinity War and Endgame.

The difference here is that this is a Banner in control of his destiny, and you can just tell that Ruffalo's having loads of fun in the part.
