X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a bad movie. It's a bad X-Men movie, a bad action movie, and just a bad piece of cinema all around.

It wasn't without some bright spots though, and while most will immediately point out the film's stellar opening montage featuring Logan and Victor Creed fighting over the course of a century as its biggest highlight, Liev Schreiber's performance deserves some praise too.

In Fox's original X-Men films Sabretooth was played by Tyler Mane, a professional wrestler who went on to star as Michael Myers in Rob Zombie's two Halloween remakes. While he certainly fit the part of scary man-beast, he didn't say much of anything and was easily defeated by the team in both the first film and its sequel, X-Men United.

Schreiber, on the other hand, genuinely made Creed a compelling figure. To do so in Origins was a feat in and of itself, and though Schreiber had no time to cement himself in the role, with his last X-Men appearance coming in the 2009 prequel, it's fair to say that if he returned, fans would have few complaints.
