8 Movie Villains Who Were Way Worse In Real Life

8. The Gang (Especially Adrian Doorbal) - Pain & Gain

Quite rightly, the families of the victims of the gang portrayed in Michael Bay's Pain & Gain were pretty ticked off when the film-maker decided to make a comedy out of the murder and torture of their loved ones. That sort of thing tends not to be particularly pleasant.

Though he drew the line at making them sympathetic, per se, Bay does suggest in the film that they're essentially at least partly good guys. That does a pretty big disservice to survivor Marc Schiller who was kidnapped, Tased, burned, beaten, pistol-whipped and forced to play Russian roulette before the gang tried to kill him by faking a car crash and then running him over.

Generally speaking, the film's portrayal of Adrian Doorbal (played by Anthony Mackie) was particularly sanitised, He was a cold-blooded killer, who reportedly took pleasure in torture of Schiller, who later remarked that:

"Doorbal just loved violence. He enjoyed what he was doing to me. He is the kind of guy you'd imagine had fun killing cats and dogs as a kid."
