8 Movie Villains Whose Punishments Were Far Too Severe

1. Senator Robert Kelly (X-Men)

When Senator Robert Kelly drew up the Mutant Registration Act in X-Men, parallels were drawn with Nazi Germany and its persecution of Jewish people.

Except, here's the thing, these comparisons don't really fly when we're talking about beings who can shoot deadly laser beams from their eyes, channel super tornadoes and alter the course of history via time travel.

Obviously there's a fine line between wanting to protect society and all-out prejudice, and the senator does cross it, but the truth of the matter is that we cannot blame the authorities for wanting to keep tabs on mutants in the X-universe.

Even the ones who have dedicated their lives to fighting evil have caused destruction on a massive scale while getting to grips with their powers.

Thanks to a hefty dose of radiation from Magneto, Kelly is forced to walk a few miles in mutant shoes, which is a fate befitting of him, except the movie had to go a step further by having him de-molecularise into a pool of water.

There could have been redemption for the senator as a member of mutant kind, seeing the world from their perspective, but instead of enlightenment he got a watery grave.
