8 Movies Loved By Their Viewers But Hated By Their Critics

7. 6 Underground

Tomatometer - 35% : Audience Score - 60%

While not absolutely revered and adored by the amassing audiences of Netflix - Michael Bay's 6 Underground's reactions from viewers seemed to start off with ironic glee, and then gradually an earnest appreciation for what they had seen.

At this point in his career, Michael Bay must have developed a thick-skinned immunity to the reviews of his films. The fact that he hasn't wavered from his "artistic" style proves they don't phase him. The reviews of 6 Underground become a Groundhog Day of vitriol - the same words are repeated in the description of the movie, by critics who consider themselves above the content he creates.

6 Underground is loud, fast-paced, offensive (probably?) and downright absurd in everything from its premise to how it presents itself. But scratch the surface, and you see what the audience' sees. The "non-professional" critics see a well-crafted piece of entertainment that has some legitimately interesting and exciting set pieces.

You can see why there is a divide: thongs, Ferraris and gunfights reek of classic Michael Bay. But there's also fun parkour sequences, amazing set design and the finale involves using magnets on a boat in the most entertaining way conceived.

You have to see it to decide for yourself.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
