Ripped Off: Point Break

In both Point Break and The Fast And The Furious a young, upcoming FBI agent infiltrates a gang of high-octane extreme sports criminals to discover who is behind a string of robberies. Both leads fall in love and develop a strong bromance with the group's charismatic leader while pinning the blame on a rival gang before realising the truth and ultimately letting the villain/their new pal escape.

Obviously, cars and surf-boards are very different things, but the story similarities between Katheryn Bigelow's cult classic and the start of the behemoth petrol head franchise are impossible to ignore. Sadly, only one of them got a ridiculous number of sequels and the chance to actually become brilliant.
