5. The Assassination Of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story (February 2)
Ryan Murphy, known for creating various successful television shows, is perhaps best known for his anthologies. With a new season of American Horror Story currently in pre-production, the second season of American Crime Story (which originally aired early last year) has finally made its way onto Netflix.
The Assassination of Gianni Versace explores the shooting of Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace and the other men murdered by serial killer Andrew Cunanan in the 90s.
The series stars Édgar Ramírez as Versace, Ricky Martin as his partner Antonio D’Amico and Penélope Cruz as Donatella Versace. Darren Criss also stars as the aforementioned spree killer.
Gianni Versace’s story is an interesting one to get pulled into. Criss even won various awards – including a Primetime Emmy – for his portrayal of Cunanan.
