8 Myths About Classic Movies You’ll Be Shocked To Hear Are False

2. The Incredibles (And Pixar In General)

PixarThe Myth: The Pizza Planet truck is in every Pixar movie. Everyone knows about Pixar has a penchant for sneaking references into their feature films. From appearances of characters from their back (and future) catalogue, to the recurrence of CalArts room number A113, some of the more ridiculous to spot (like senile chess player Geri turning up as a toy repairer in Toy Story 2). The most famous of all is the Pizza Planet truck, which has appeared in every film to date. The Shocking Truth: It€™s not in The Incredibles. The Incredibles director Brad Bird may have been at CalArts with the rest of Pixar€™s brain tank (the tight knit high echelons who created Buzz, Scully and Nemo), but he actually joined the animation house late in the game, taking a sojourn through The Simpsons and The Iron Giant. When he finally became part of the company, he was too late to be directly involved in the in-jokes, so decided not to bother taking part in them with his first feature there. There is one shot in the film, when the family arrive to save the city, where a quick yellow flash that many claim to be the eponymous truck can be seen, but that€™s really nothing more than wishful thinking. By his next film, Bird had succumbed to Pixar€™s ways; the truck appears on a Parisian bridge in Ratatouille.
