8 Novels You Haven't Read That Became Iconic Films

6. Die Hard - Nothing Lasts Forever By Roderick Thorp

diehard The novel that became Die Hard. The movie introduced us to John McClane, but the main character of the novel is named Joseph Leland, who is older than his film character equivalent, and retired. He is not in Los Angeles to spend Christmas with his estranged wife and children, but to visit his adult daughter, an oil company executive. There are other similarities and differences, but it's probably best to read them on your own. The novel was re-released in December of last year, and I do plan to eventually read it.
