8 Reasons We Should Be Nervous About Star Wars 7

1. George Lucas Is Still Involved

George Lucas Sad As they like to say in Hollywood, "you can't keep George Lucas down" (well, they don't - but they should start saying that). So despite the fact that Star Wars momentarily appeared to be have been unchained from George Lucas much like Princess Leia was unchained from Jabba before she decided to strangle him to death, he's still heavily involved in the Episode VII production process in a "consultant" role, and presumably spends most of his time saying things like "more CGI here, please," "that dialogue cue is far too subtle" and "he should mention sand now." Let's face the facts, then: George Lucas, quite simply, just doesn't like Star Wars as much as Star Wars fans do. He obviously can't like it as much as they do, because he made Episode I-III, thus proving that his idea of what makes a good Star Wars movie is completely different to what everybody else thinks. He's not wrong, it's just impossible for him - as creator - to know where he stands on the subject (writers rarely "embrace" the things they create in the same way as the fans do, anyway - the process of affection is different because you were there from start to finish, ya'll). But the very idea that he's still hanging around, offering little tidbits and snippets of advice to the people making this thing, is rather unnerving, to say the least. Still, he did create Star Wars in the first place - it's his right to be a part of it, we guess. Hopefully the crew just pretend not to hear him when he suggests they CGI all the characters. Off you go, George. Go count your billions. Like this article? Are you worried or do you have confidence that Disney will deliver the goods? Let us know in the comments section below.
