8 Reasons Why Christian Bale's Batman Is Better Than Ben Affleck's

OK, I was being a little misleading when I called Batman a dual role just then, because really it's a triple part - you have Batman, you have the public Bruce Wayne and you have the real man in the middle. The duality of the Dark Knight is something that has come to dominate the character's presentation in all media, but to really get it right there needs to be that troubled middle ground that both extremities feed and hide from.

That was the entire point of Nolan's trilogy and meant that that Bale's two sides of the coin melded together so well. Snyder sees things much more simplistically, so, while he flirts with Bruce's dependence on his alter ego at one point, for the most part this is lost.

This is perhaps best exemplified by Batman V Superman's use of a voice modulator. Bale's hoarse growls may be incessantly mocked, but they worked as a further psychological barrier between Bruce and Batman; by Affleck's own admission he was just talking normally on set, knowing his voice would be touched up in post. And if there's a definitive statement on the two Batmen, it's that.

Which Batman do you prefer? Are you a fan of Batfleck or Baleman? Have your say down in the comments.
