Anyone who is a long-time follower of the superhero film genre, no doubt knows the name Avi Arad. Back in the early '00s, Arad served as a producer on nearly every Marvel adaptation. While the man absolutely deserves our reverence and respect for the work he put in during those early years, he has seemingly lost his touch a bit in the years since.

After producing the first Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk with Feige in 2008, Arad stepped away from Marvel Studios to focus solely on Sony's remaining properties. In other words, the Amazing Spider-Man films. He acted as a producer and primary member of the story group for that 'franchise', acting as one of the biggest believers in the spin-off, Spidey universe approach.

Arad has also allowed his true roots to show through increasingly more in recent years, as he is a businessman at heart. He looks to make profitable films first and foremost, which is exactly why he's been pushing for Venom solo film for so long. In his own words: "Venom sells toys".

After having a greatly reduced role in the production of Homecoming, Venom sees Arad back on-board at full capacity, which is cause for a great deal of concern.
