8 Reasons Why Tom Hardy Will Be The Biggest Actor Of 2015

1. He's Going To Be In The Oscar Race

It's never too early for Oscar talk, especially when the film in question is directed and co-written by the newly double Oscar winning Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, shot by two-years-in-a-row-Oscar-winner Emmanuel Lubezki and starring "oh God, he's got to win an Oscar soon, surely?"-actor Leonardo DiCaprio. Also when that film co-stars one of the best leading men around - that'd be Hardy - who is certainly overdue an Oscar nom by now. No one can speak for the quality of The Revenant yet, as there isn't so much as a trailer, but the tale as well as the talent involved suggests it's going to be another home run for Inarritu. And if all goes to plan, Hardy is likely to be nominated for - and perhaps even win - Best Supporting Actor for playing duplicitous 19th-century tracker John Fitzgerald. The odds on Hardy being nominated for Best Actor for taking on the tricky double Krays role in the more independent Legend are lower, but don't count it out yet - if the performance is good enough, Hardy could well be heading towards Academy recognition for that film as well.
