6. Weirdly Organic Alien Tech

Maybe its just a symptom of a super-advanced society, but why do so many aliens seem to have an aversion to stainless steel?

Whilst the human race is continuing in its quest to make everything look as much like the Apple Store as possible, all the scariest aliens seem to be flying around the galaxy in ships that they appear to have grown on fleshy trees.

For some reason, in the world of sci-fi, the eviler you are, the less concerned you are about spending your life in a dark, sticky, smelly spaceship.

Maybeit makes sense that a spaceship should perhaps have self-healing properties, or the ability to reproduce, but if we, in the 21st century, can make self healing concretethatdoesn't look like it just slithered out of an egg sac, then so can they.
