8 Superhero Movie Concept Designs Better Than We Actually Got

As far as early 2000s comic book films go, Daredevil isn't that bad. The director's cut is actually quite serviceable, and though there's no getting away from Matt Murdock sparring with Elektra in a playground, of all places, it's fairly obvious that Mark Steven Johnson's project had all the pieces to make a compelling adaptation of Marvel's Man Without Fear.

One stumbling block with the character has always been the costume. There's the garish yellow and black look from the hero's early days, which pretty much everyone has managed to avoid thus far, and then the scarlet-horned number he's worn ever since. It's the look both that film and the MCU's Netflix TV series have opted for, except with the original, everything was a lot more... leathery.

Keeping in with the style of superhero outfits being nothing but leather, the original suit had a zip up jacket, cowl and trousers. It looked okay, but concept art for the film originally revealed a different look for the character - one that managed to provide an update to the character's infamous 'armoured' look from the nineties.

With armour plating, straps and pouches, this Daredevil looked well and truly prepared for crimefighting. As opposed to other, who went to sleep in a leaky coffin.
