Comic book movies are certainly the must-see movies in this day and age, with the likes of The Avengers, Iron Man 3 and The Dark Knight Rises - all of which have been released in the last two years - all featuring in the top ten highest grossing films of all time (and all of which have grossed over a billion dollars at the box office). A number of other comic book movies - including all three instalments of the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy and The Dark Knight - appear in the top fifty grossing films of all time, further emphasising just how popular the genre is. This year we have a veritable feast of comic book movies all being served up by the good people at Marvel - albeit by three different movie studios. Sony's Amazing Spider-Man 2 (April/May), Fox's X-Men: Days of Future Past (May) and Marvel Studios/Disney Studios' Captain America: The Winter Soldier (March/April) and Guardians of the Galaxy (August) will be providing us with action ranging from street-level scuffles to intergalactic war. Each film has a number of things that we can't wait to see, but some aspects of these movies are particularly interesting and intriguing. In this article, we'll be taking a look at the things that stand out in all four of these movies as potentially very exciting.
