2. A Multi-Colored Bloodbath
No matter which sub-genre Tarantino plays with, one thing is guaranteed: it's going to be a bloodbath. The cool thing with sci-fi is, it'll be a multi-colored bloodbath! Think about it. Is Tarantino the kind of guy to pass up an opportunity to spray green-blooded alien guts all over a scene? Or have a traditional Mexican stand-off that ends in a violent, over-the-top explosion of blue-blooded alien body parts? The answer is no. We've seen a steady stream of violence intensity over the director's career, and judging by what we've heard of The Hateful Eight so far, he's showing no signs of stopping. That won't change when he goes into science fiction. In fact, the chance to play around with alien blood may just be a draw for the director, who needs to find ways to keep upping the ante after the Candyland shootout in Django Unchained, the Crazy 88 fight in Kill Bill, and the theater shootout in Inglourious Basterds.
