Actual Score: 9% Hey, I'm just as against shameless cash-ins on threadbare "franchises" as the next guy, but when they feature Liam Neeson straight-up unleashing fury on bad guys, it's a lot easier to forgive the lack of originality. Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling Taken 3 a great action movie - it's not even the best Liam Neeson action movie of 2015, a distinction that belongs to Run All Night - but does this really deserve a single digit rating? Sure, the basic premise of our protagonist having the most unlucky family on the planet is getting stretched beyond thin, but at least this third instalment decides to add a Fugitive-style twist to the whole ordeal. And come on, guys, this is still Liam "special set of skills" Neeson running roughshod over the people who have wronged him and his family. I wouldn't endorse a fourth Taken film, but even the most casual fan of vengeance should find something to like in this one. Adjusted Score: 28%
