8 Upcoming Comic Book Movies That Must Be Stopped

5. Ninja Turtles

It's hard to know where to begin with the Michael Bay-produced reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. For starters, the title is all wrong, but more frustrating than that is the content we've heard leaking out from the production; the turtles are now going to be aliens coming from a turtle planet, and Megan Fox has incredulously been cast as April O'Neil, something even the comic's co-creator Peter Laird seems to think was suspect. Perhaps the most frightening thing is the early script - which, after the negative response, was promptly ditched - and how Paramount actually considered going with it; in this script, Shredder was instead an army man called Colonel Shrader, there was a long romantic sub-plot involving Casey and April, and Mikey ended up falling in love with a female turtle from his home planet. Perhaps we should be grateful we won't get something that bad, but the project still just reeks of bad news. Everything we've heard so far is underwhelming, from the casting (the turtles themselves are played by unknowns) to those on the business side of the desk. Shooting started almost 2 weeks ago, so set images will hopefully begin leaking out soon and we can start to judge for ourselves.
