1. Deadpool
Deadpool is a brilliant comic book character, and therefore it's all the more disappointing how he's been given the short shrift on screen so far. Who can forget the travesty that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine, in which The Merc with a Mouth literally had his mouth sewn up, completely disregarding anything the character represented in the process (that and he looked more like Baraka from Mortal Kombat)? Following Wolverine's calamitous failure, plans emerged to reboot the character with his own film and just ignore the prior mess. Ryan Reynolds is still aboard to star, though the project has been stalled for a few years, as the studio is reportedly reluctant to push forward with an R-rated script, which sounds to be a lot more faithful to the comic book character (namely that, like in the comics, Deadpool breaks the fourth wall). In all likelihood, then, if this one gets made it will be a severely neutered version of what it should be. Which upcoming comic book movies make you nervous or angry?
