8 Villains That Need To Appear In Batfleck's Arkham Asylum Movie

1. Mr. Freeze

Sure Mr. Freeze was almost damaged beyond repair by Arnold Schwarzenegger's pun-heavy interpretation in 1998's Batman and Robin, but the character has an incredibly deep and tragic backstory that deserves to be seen on the big screen.

Mr Freeze was the butt of many jokes until Bruce Timm and Paul Dini revamped the look and origin of the character in the Batman Animated Series. 'Heart of Ice' reintroduced Freeze to the world as a deeply twisted, yet tragic scientist trying by all means necessary to save the life of his wife, Nora. This was so well received by critics, it was awarded an Emmy. The comics origin and look were then retconned to fit more seamlessly with the animated version and Mr. Freeze became an iconic Batman villain overnight.

Then came Schumacher's Batman and Robin.

Unfortunately most film fans only know Schwarzenegger's ice thin portrayal and it would take a serious amount of work to rescue Mr. Freeze from movie purgatory. However, Affleck did mention that Batman is in and amongst the great America dramas. What is more dramatic than a flawed antagonist, simply doing all he can to save his terminally ill partner - something that resonates with the majority of moviegoers.

Affleck is a huge fan of the animated series and with his Oscar winning expertise, can transform Mr.Freeze a formidable foe for Batman on the big screen once again.

Visually impressive and deeply tragic, Freeze would make for a tremendous addition to the new DC Extended Universe.
