8 Ways Doctor Strange Is Basically The New Iron Man
6. Brains To Match The Brawn
When you look down the roster, Stephen Strange and Tony Stark are undisputedly the two smartest heroes among the Avengers' ranks.
Stark is a master engineer, able to craft technologies and weapons that even the government struggles to match, and Strange is a genius neurosurgeon, shown in the film to possess an incredible memory and perform complex operations without breaking a sweat.
Both are shown to be quick thinkers, too. Iron Man makes a snap-decision to carry the nuke through the portal in The Avengers, and Strange uses his wits and creates a time loop in order to defeat Dormammu, and doesn't resort to pure brute strength.
This intelligence that both characters share makes them perfect leadership material, and it's not hard to imagine the Avengers, and the world, looking to Strange as a leader simply because he demands respect by consistently displaying his smarts, just like Iron Man does.
It helps that they're both insanely powerful too. Strange can bend time to his will and Iron Man can go toe-to-toe with the God of Thunder and come out on top. Unlike their fellow Avengers, these guys have the brains to match their strength - Thor's intellect is questionable, Cap isn't all that savvy and Vision and Scarlet Witch are both young and naive - and this made Iron Man the perfect anchor for the team, just as it will make Strange.
